Veeam documentation, search engines and AI
Veeam documentation, search engines and AI
Once upon a time I had wonderful hair and Veeam was able to backup VM on VMware and HyperV. Now Veeam has enhanced itself a lot and has a **HUGE **portfolio of products.
When I’m asked “are you a Veeam expert?” I answer “nowadays Veeam is like surgery: a single surgeon can’t do everything”.
It’s a little bit of an overstatement. But unless you only work with Veeam products (not so common in Italy, I guess), it’s really difficult to be ready for any question a customer asks.
Veeam documentation is done to help you, but it’s **HUGE **like the portfolio, and often I’m struggling in finding the information I’m needing. Today I gave a try to the popular AI engines to be used for this search, instead of a traditional search engine.
ChatGPT 4o (paid subscription) has been really fast and helpful

the answer is brief and correct! And the link to the related page in the doc are provided.
**Gemini **(I am a paying Google customer, but not paying for special feature of Gemini, so it’s the free one I guess) was not that good

P.S.: yes, Veeam has its AI chatbot inside the console.
Veeam AI Chatbot | Veeam Community Resource Hub *Maybe many people do not use it actively, but I think it will be useful for many people who will just start using…*community.veeam.com
But you need a VBR console, and it’s not available with NFR licenses.
And, obviously, my considerations/tests are probably as valid with other products as they are with Veeam.
